Makes about 2 (8-ounce) servings

There are a few things I like about this smoothie: First of all, yum. The pineapple really counteracts the kale. Kale is SO GOOD FOR YOU, but it can taste bitter if you don’t blend it with a sweet fruit (mango is another good option). Second, the blueberries are packed with antioxidants. And third, if you’re feeling super bloated around your period, or you don’t have the time (or the interest) to do 20 million crunches at the gym, it’s nice to make a smoothie that counteracts belly bloat—there’s an enzyme in pineapple that eases digestion and swelling!

3 ounces nonfat Greek yogurt (plain, or vanilla for added sweetness)

1 tablespoon almond butter

½ cup frozen blueberries

½ cup frozen pineapple

1 cup kale

¾ cup water or 6 ice cubes for a thicker smoothie

Throw all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
